Sargasso of Morgantown is actively seeking highly qualified candidates for Line Chef positions within our establishment. 

Ideal candidates will have at least 3 years of professional kitchen experience, including working all stations in a standard hot line configuration.

Key Requirements:

- Experience in full service, multi-service restaurants or relevant culinary school training

- Strong understanding of basic cooking methods, strong knife skills, practical knowledge of all kitchen equipment
-Strong written and oral communication skills
-Flexible schedule, able to work weekends and holidays
-Strong desire to perform, task-driven and goal oriented individual
-Strong passion for the restaurant industry, committed to continual education, enjoys outside reading and research
-Passionate about eating great food, discussing food and industry topics
-Takes direction and criticism well, remains open minded and shows willingness to learn and/or practice new techniques

-Be prepared for either a cooking demonstration of your skills or stage


Responsibilities:
-Maintains station, stocking, rotating, prepping and cooking all items for service
-Prepares all menu items in accordance standards set by the Chef
-Fabricates proteins and other meats respectfully and with care
-Maintains clean and sanitary work environment
-Ability to lift items up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
-Assists and helps other kitchen staff to ensure a successful night

-Maintains a team oriented environment
-Assists Chef with ordering by notifying of low pars or out of stock items

-Assists with putting orders away, stocking areas of the restaurant, helps maintain a clean and organized kitchen

Compensation:
-Competitive salary, depending on experience
